Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business

Our firm has been honored by Chambers & Partners as a “Leading Law Firm” in Texas for our intellectual property and commercial litigation practice areas, and William A. Munck (intellectual property) and E. Leon Carter (commercial litigation) have each been repeatedly recognized as leading individual attorneys in his respective field. American College of Trial Lawyers

The American College of Trial Lawyers named E. Leon Carter one of its Fellows in 2009. The organization is widely considered to be the premier professional organization for members of the trial bar in the U.S. and Canada. An ACTL fellowship is extended by invitation only, after a careful investigation, to trial lawyers who have “mastered the art of advocacy” and “whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality”. Fellowship in the College can never be more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province.

Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America

The Lawdragon 500 is one of the most highly respected guides to the best lawyers in the nation, representing far less than 1% of the legal profession. When William A. Munck was named to this list, their editors called him an “IP Icon” who “can handle medical and mechanical devices as easily as firmware, hardware and software”. And they had this to say about E. Leon Carter: “Carter’s clearly a winner, having tried more than 100 cases in the fields of products liability and wrongful death, toxic torts and labor/employment issues.”

D Magazine honored William A. Munck and E. Leon Carter in their 2009 listing of the Best Personal Lawyers in Dallas. Mr. Carter was honored for his work in business litigation and Mr. Munck was recognized as one of the city’s top intellectual property attorneys. Mr. Munck has been named to the D Magazine list of the Best Lawyers in Dallas in each of the last three years.

The Defenders — Top Business-Defense Lawyers in the DFW Metroplex

In 2010, William A. Munck was honored by the Dallas Business Journal in its annual feature on the best business defense lawyers in Dallas/Fort Worth. Jamil N. Alibhai and E. Leon Carter were similarly honored in 2009 and 2007.

Texas Super Lawyers

Seven Munck Carter attorneys were selected by Law & Politics and Texas Monthly magazines as Texas Super Lawyers for 2009. Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only 5% of the attorneys in the state are named to the list each year. Selection is based upon peer nominations, a blue ribbon panel review and independent research of candidates. Texas Rising Stars

Law & Politics and Texas Monthly magazines recognize the top up-and-coming attorneys in Texas -- those who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less — as Texas Rising Stars.
