John T. Mockler is a Partner at Munck Carter, practicing in the Intellectual Property section as a patent attorney registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Mockler concentrates his practice on counseling domestic and international companies of all sizes in the identification and protection of their intellectual property assets, including the development and enforcement of an intellectual property licensing program. He has experience in the areas of intellectual property infringement analysis and litigation.

He provides intellectual property counsel in a number of high-technology sectors, including telecommunications, computer software, data networks and semiconductors and electronics.

Representative Experience:

  • Represented technology client specializing in video processing and prepared a patent for a single IC TV tuner that was the subject of a patent infringement litigation in which the client was awarded in excess of $22 million in infringement damages and attorney fees and also won a settlement for additional future royalties.
  • Represented a Fortune 500 semiconductor manufacturer in patent licensing, litigation support, infringement and invalidity analysis, as well as patent preparation and prosecution, including reexamination.
  • Represented a wireless technology company in conducting due diligence and theft of trade secret analysis in the acquisition of a patent portfolio acquired by a Fortune 500 wireless technology corporation.
