E. Leon Carter Named to American College of Trial LawyersDALLAS – E. Leon Carter, a named partner and executive committee member of the Dallas-based law firm Munck Carter, LLP, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. The American College of Trial Lawyers is the premier professional organization for members of the trial bar in the U.S. and Canada. Founded in 1950, the College limits membership to the top one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. Mr. Carter was inducted along with 80 other new Fellows at the College’s spring meeting in Puerto Rico. “This is a well-deserved honor for Leon, one that we believe reflects his consistent advocacy for his clients,” says William Munck, Managing Partner of Munck Carter. “Leon embodies the College’s founding tenets, and undoubtedly belongs on any list of the best trial attorneys in America.” College fellowships are extended by invitation only to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. A minimum of 15 years of trial experience is required. Mr. Carter’s experience includes representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation, including patent, trade secret and unfair competition, election and voting rights, products liability, First Amendment issues, labor and employment, and toxic tort litigation. He has tried more than 50 civil and criminal cases to a jury. Mr. Carter has served as a Dallas County Assistant District Attorney and Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington and Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. Mr. Carter graduated from Carthage High School in 1977 and received his undergraduate degree from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas in 1980. He earned his law degree from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston. Munck Carter has carved out a practice devoted to trials, transactions and technology.
