J. Robert Arnett II is a Partner at Munck Carter, practicing in the Litigation section.  Mr. Arnett is an A-V rated attorney, and was named a "Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine.

Mr. Arnett has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of civil litigation at trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts, as well as before domestic and international arbitration tribunals. Mr. Arnett has represented businesses in the hospitality, commercial and residential real estate, construction, insurance, finance, medical services, corporate services, telecommunications, entertainment, and retail marketing industries. Mr. Arnett also has significant experience in bankruptcy cases, representing debtors, creditors, creditors' committees, and other parties in interest. Mr. Arnett has represented all types and sizes of clients, from individuals and small family owned businesses to publicly traded Fortune 500 companies.

Mr. Arnett received his Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law, where he achieved the Order of the Coif, received multiple American Jurisprudence awards, and served as the Managing Editor of the UCLA Pacific Basin Law Journal for two years. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Martin Pence, Senior District Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. Mr. Arnett received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He also served a four year assignment as an infantry officer in the United State Marine Corps.

Representative Experience

  • Representation of major manufacturer and patentee in patent infringement suit involving vending machines.  Case settled on confidential terms immediately before jury selection.
  • Representation of Texas manufacturer in patent infringement suite involving fiber optic connector assemblies for military application.   Obtained a defense verdict of noninfringment after a four day jury trial.
  • Representation of Pennsylvania manufacturer in trademark infringement suit and in proceedings before the Trademark Trials and Appeals Board involving night vision devices.   Obtained favorable ruling on ownership of the marks after four day bench trial.
  • Representation of telecommunications company in breach of contract case.  Obtained verdict for all amounts sought after four day jury trial.
  • Representation of multinational financing company in alter ego suit involving loans to a nursing home company.
  • Representation of manufacturer of magnetic resonance imaging equipment and equipment financing company in breach of warranty suit.
  • Representation of several real estate investment trusts against commercial financing company involving breach of lending commitment.  Obtained multi-million dollar verdict after six week jury trial, and the case is currently on appeal.
  • Representation of a telecommunications company and two of its officers and directors in minority shareholder oppression suit.  Case settled for a confidential amount in the second week of a jury trial.
  • Representation of a company that owned commercial jet aircraft against aircraft manufacturer and its insurance company involving damage to an aircraft and misrepresentations regarding reimbursement of cost of substitute aircraft.  Obtained judgment after two week jury.
  • Representation of company that owned and operated cold storage warehouses against law firm that represented its adversary for participating in fraudulent transfers.  Obtained favorable verdict after two week jury trial, and the case settled for a confidential amount while post-trial motions were pending.
  • Representation of general contractor against owner of luxury apartment project for breach of construction contract.  Obtained favorable award after one-week arbitration hearing, which was confirmed by the district court, and affirmed on appeal.
